Deployment and upkeep · Separate engagements

Make running and maintaining the bot a clear responsibility.

An existing bot may need deployment or ongoing support after launch. Both can be discussed independently. First assess the project and environment, then agree deployment, monitoring, backups and fault handling.

Need a one-time deployment?

Start with the code, dependencies, configuration and target environment. Discuss who supplies the server, platform accounts and access, and who will manage the bot afterward.

Deployment acceptance can cover startup, key user flows and configuration handover. Whether ongoing monitoring and daily upkeep are included must be stated in the scope.

Need ongoing support?

Explain how the bot runs now and what concerns you. Then assess the parts that can be taken over. Monitoring, logs, backups, recovery arrangements and the fault reporting route need named responsibilities.

Distinguish fault handling from new buttons, business rules or system connections. New features can be assessed separately.

Agree the operating responsibilities.

Environment and access
Identify who owns and manages the server, bot account and connected systems. Agree a suitable handover route for sensitive configuration; do not put credentials in a public project description.
Monitoring and recovery
Agree what is checked, how logs are accessed, how backups are retained and how recovery is checked. Specify how faults are reported, who handles them and when your assistance is needed.
Scope and handover
Define routine changes versus new development, along with data exports, configuration handover and arrangements when hosting ends.

Information for the first assessment

  • The bot’s purpose, platform, source availability and current maintainer.
  • Where it runs, its runtime and any deployment notes.
  • Whether you need one-time deployment or ongoing upkeep, and any current faults.
  • The importance of its data, existing backups and who can help with acceptance.

Current projects focus on Telegram; other platforms and existing projects need assessment. For missing functionality, explore bot upgrades first.

Questions before commissioning

Can I commission one deployment without monthly hosting?
Yes. First assess the code and environment, then agree launch checks, configuration handover and who operates the bot afterward.
Which faults and response arrangements does maintenance cover? What about new features?
Fault handling, contact methods and response arrangements are agreed per project, with no universal response time promised. New buttons, rules or system connections need a separate assessment.

Tell us how the bot runs today.

Describe the project and environment, and whether you need a launch or ongoing support.
